The Art Of Perspective
A field trip to the Portland Art Museum
January Workshops Now Booking
Details & Logistics
Workshop price: $45 per person
Museum admission: Not included (free for members, $27.50 for non-members)
Location: Portland Art Museum + nearby coffee shop
Total time: Three hours
Group size: Small
This is a three-hour, in-person workshop built around using the museum as a thinking space.
Art gives us something external to react to. That shift makes it easier to notice patterns, assumptions, and habits of thought without forcing outcomes or conclusions. The structure is simple and intentional, designed to open up new ways of seeing by changing the environment.
The Workshop Experience
We begin inside the museum with a short set of prompts, such as:
“Find a piece that represents calm.”
Participants move through the galleries independently, using the prompts to guide attention and observation.
After about ninety minutes, we meet at a nearby coffee shop to talk through what stood out and what emerged. The conversation centers on ideas, perspective, and insight that surfaced during the experience.
