Frequently Asked Questions

  • These workshops introduce a different way of thinking, using art as a lens for how we navigate everyday complexity.

They are designed for people with a lot going on, those experiencing sustained overwhelm, and anyone carrying the mental load of high responsibility or perfectionism.

The focus is on burnout recovery and prevention, offering a practical reset from everyday pressures.

  • We begin together in a single gallery to get oriented. From there, you’re invited to stay nearby and talk through a few observations, or to explore the museum on your own.

You’re given a small set of prompts that encourage observation from different angles. You choose what resonates and how you want to engage with the art as you move through the museum.

Participants are encouraged to take photos along the way. In the second half of the workshop, we spend time with what you noticed and how the experience connects to your own thinking.

  • Hi, I’m Ryan. I bring over 20 years of experience as both an entrepreneur and a working artist. I’ve experienced the cycles of momentum, pressure, and overwhelm that come with building and sustaining creative and professional work over time.

Art shapes how I see and understand the world. Through years of making, exhibiting, and observing, I’ve seen how people naturally slow down, open up, and relate differently when they spend time with work that is thoughtful, layered, and imperfect.

I use museum galleries as a setting to explore how we think and where we get stuck, by changing the environment and slowing the pace. The work is less about instruction and more about noticing what’s already there, using art as a shared reference point for reflection and conversation.

My workshops are designed to be welcoming and nonjudgmental, allowing participants to come as they are and engage at their own pace.

  • Museum memberships often include free or discounted admission, access to special exhibitions, and invitations to member-only events throughout the year. Many museums also offer guest passes, reciprocal admission at partner institutions, and discounts at museum shops and cafés.

If you are considering a membership, note that museum entry purchased for this workshop can typically be applied toward a membership if you join the museum on the same day. Policies vary by museum, so it’s best to confirm details directly at the admissions desk.

Memberships are managed by each museum and are separate from workshop registration.
